Volunteer Roles

More than 100 volunteers are needed to make the ride a success. All volunteers receive a t-shirt and ticket to the finish line party. Help is needed in a variety of capacities, including:

  • Traffic Directors: Ensure the safety of riders crossing highway 200. Morning and afternoon shifts.
  • Rider Checkers: Check rider numbers as riders start or finish the ride, as well as when they enter and exit challenge loops. Morning and afternoon shifts.
  • Rider Check-in: Check-in riders and collect donations at beginning of ride. Early morning shift.
  • Aid/Water Station Staffing: Set up aid stations and provide snacks and drinks for riders. Morning and afternoon shifts.
  • SAG: Provide assistance and/or transportation for riders in the event of a minor accident or mechanical problem. SAG providers must provide their own SUV or XtraCab pickup capable of carrying riders and bikes. Morning/afternoon shifts.
  • Finish Line Cheerers: Cheer for riders as they cross the finish line at the end of the day. Afternoon shift.
  • Event Set-Up/Tear Down: Assist with the barbecue area set up and/or tear down at the end of the evening. Morning and afternoon shifts.
